SWEDISH MOVIE "EVERLASTING MOMENTS"

- IN COOPERATION WITH SEATTLE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Everlasting Moments (Maria Larssons Eviga Ögonblick, 2008) is directed by Jan Troell, a Five-Time Academy Award Nominee.

Everlasting Moments take place in Sweden in the early 1900s in a time of social unrest, war and poverty. The movie is about Maria, a young working-class woman, who wins a camera in a lottery. The camera introduces Maria to photography and grants her new eyes with which to see the world. Her new-found talent suddenly infuses her with confidence and awakens an inner passion. Unfortunately, her husband, an alcoholic and a womanizer, feels threatened by his wife’s new found outlook on life and becomes more abusive, threatening to kill her and destroy her camera. But Maria defies him and continues to take pictures, eventually developing an intimate friendship with the charming photographer Sebastian.
